What is BLOCK LIMIT?

The maximum amount of INSURANCE an INSURER is willing or able to UNDERWRITE in a given metropolitan city block. Block limits are often used in areas that are deemed susceptible to CATASTROPHIC HAZARDS such as earthquakes or hurricanes. See also BLANKET LIMIT.
