Definition and Citations:
A scale used to measure the alkalinity and acidity of any substance that is soluble in water. The pH values are given from 1- 14. 7 is regarded as the neutral point, while those values that lie below 7 are acidic, and concurrently, values above 7 are considered to be alkaline.
