The state of not having balance. One part is more than the other.

AUTOMOBILE

A vehicle with four wheels and an engine. They move people and cargo around. Gasoline is the fuel for this transportation method. Some have electric or water run engines as well.

AVAILABLE ASSET

An asset that is ready for quick conversion into cash. This is done to meet an urgent need for cash flow.

AVERAGE UP

When an investor buys long position shares to reduce prices and make more profit. Compare this term to average down and dollar cost averaging.

ADJUSTMENTS ESTIMATE

A request to parliament for a rider attached to a bill changing the amount of money set aside for a yearly budget.

ADVANTAGE

A trait that is favorable for a company. It leads to success in the future. It is the exact opposite of a disadvantage.

ADVERTISING COPY

The letters on any ad that are designed to get a buyers attention.The headline is most important here. Shorter is better but if well written a long ad will also be effective.

AGATE

The size of advertising space. For print its 5.14 points equalling 1.81 mm. Refer to milline rate.

AGENTS TECHNOLOGY

A computer program with AI or artificial intelligence that learns and automates processes.

AIM

AIRPASS

A fare allowing a tourist to travel a country for a certain time.

ALKALINE

A solution or soil sample that has a ph level of 7 or above.

ALLERGIC REACTION

An unusual responce to an allergen. The body is attempting to fight off the strange substance. It can be mild or severe. Refer to intolerance.

ALTER EGO

A document that holds stockholders and directors responsible for loss. This is used when the company is a front. It is not the independent entity imagined by corporate law.
