FLAT DATABASE

A database with one large table. This different from many tables with a relational database. It is flat due to the 2d structure that cannot show complex data. AKA flat file database

The agency that handles safety for food and cosmetics. It also looks at drugs and their use. They regulate new drugs, standards, and restrictions.

FOOT TRAFFIC

The people who visit a business not in a car. They walk to the desintation. They are exposed when they walk past an establishment or drive by it.

FORMAL CONTRACT

Legally enforceable contract. Use of a prescribed format and containing standardized conditions and provisions in its text makes it formal, makes it legally enforceable.

FORTUNE 1000

The top 1000 largest US public and privately-held companies are listed based on reported revenues. It is an annual ranking by Fortune magazine.

FORWARD INTEGRATION

A manufacturer buys its output distribution channels to achieve greater economies of scale or higher market share. A type of vertical integration.

FOUR P’S OF MARKETING

Product, price, place (distribution), and promotion. Four major factors controllable in any marketing mix.

FRACTURE

1. Material separates into two parts. Typically caused by mechanical failure. 2. Bone breaking; many types exist, such as complete or incomplete breakage.

Absorbing a higher premium cost to secure a lower interest rate for a certain time as an investment strategy.

Duty-free trading zone and commercial area around a free port.

Free reserves level in an economy indicates available bank credit. Bank’s funds in excess of required monies under the Fractional Reserve System. Excess is available for lending or investment.
