APPRAISAL

1. an evaluation done to determine an items worth. 2. when an appraiser assesses market value, estimates damage, and determines loss. It is written and effects the value of the property. AKA

APPRAISAL CLAUSE

In property insurance the insured or insurer can demand an appraisal for property damaged to justify a claim.

APPRAISAL FEE

A charge that an appraiser estimates for market value. The fee is based on the value or it can be fixed.

APPRECIATION

When an asset’s value increases due to improvements or additions.

APPROPRIABILITY

When an item or skill can be learned or copied and can be reused elsewhere.

APPROPRIATENESS

Acting appropriately or fitting the requirements that are asked of a party.

APPROPRIATION ACCOUNT

1. part of income that is how profits are used to pay debt or increase profit. It states the profit amount not how it got there. 2. an account held by government

APPURTENANCE LIEN

When a new owner can take possession of anything on the land they purchased. This occurs when responsibility is not taken as the contract states.

APTITUDE

Having an ability to learn new skills. Interest in what is being taught or trained is important.

APTITUDE TEST

A test given to employees to assess abilities and potential.

AQUEOUS WASTE

Any liquid waste that is waterbased. It may have floating or settled debris like oil, paint, or rust.

ARBITRAGE

An investment strategy involving the simultaneous purchase and sale of two ASSETS in order to capitalize on small price or rate discrepancies. The intent of the strategy is to generate a profit

ARC

A discharge of electricity over a space with two electrodes.

ARC FURNACE

A furnace that creates heat with electric current. Metal scrap or electrodes are used in this proces.

ARC WELDING

Joining metals by heating the spaces between them and adding a filler metal.

ARCHANGEL

A strong angel investor with a successful history in investment. A consultant kept by angels to research and present opportunities.
