EXTERNAL STATEMENT

A financial statement that tells outside parties the firm’s position and their results. They give detailed information to help with decision making and management.

How a firm relates shown in a web drawing. It involves competitors, customers, and suppliers to name a few.

EXTERNAL VALIDITY

Whena generalization is amde from other studies that only have a part of the relevant population.

EXTERNAL VERIFICATION

Confirming business transactions and documents by a third party that is usually an auditor.

EXTERNALITIES

A factor those benefits and costs are not recorded on the market prices.

EXTRA RISK

A party or risk that is outside standard insurance. It is needed to pay a higher premium or getting less coverage.

EXTRACTIVE INDUSTRY

A process that needs raw materials from earth to be used. It relates to metal, minerals, and earth aggregates.

EXTRADITION TREATY

A treaty between states regarding the return of criminals who flee. The courts have to be sure that prima facie case exists.

EXTRANET

A network of computers that lets controlled acces to information to outsiders that are authorized to be connected to the intranet.

EXTRAPOLATION

Predicting an unknown from the known data. It uses history and the current population to predict growth. If the current situation is stable it is a good prediction method. Refer to interpolation.

EXTRINSIC REWARD

A reward that is expected but does not lead to more satisfaction. Refer to hygiene factors.
