1. Time spent learning a skill or field of knowledge. Superior understanding or mastery gained by actual practice acquired over months or years. 2. Known also as tenure (Definition 3).

EXPERIENCE QUALITIES

Post-purchase and consumption evaluation of the way a service was provided. Points of courtesy, attention, and satisfaction are weighed.

EXPERIENCE RATING

Actual claims in a previous by amount paid-out. Used a the basis for calculating upcoming premiums.

EXPERIENTIAL PROCESS

The firsthand involvement used to teach rather than lecturing or teaching in a secondhand way.

EXPERIMENTAL ECONOMICS

How an experiment is controlled when testing the affect of human behavior on the testing process.

EXPERT

A person that had knowledge and skills learned over years of experience in a subject. Their opinion can be helpful in problem solving. Refer to expert evidence.

EXPERT DATABASE SYSTEM

Combining DBMS with expert systems software. It is used when special knowledge is needed to use it and information is shared or scattered. AKA base management system.

EXPERT EVIDENCE

Testimony related to a professional or scientific subject. It is based on training and experience in a subject area. The expert must give their opinion to aid the court in a decision

EXPIRATION CARD

The way the end date is noted on a contract. It is used to remind the agent of policies that need renewal.

EXPIRATION FILE

The note about expiration dates that agents use to keep track of policy dates.

EXPIRED

When a contract ends that was active between parties.

EXPIRED APPROPRIATION

An appropriation where no new contract can be done but is used to settle existing obligations.

EXPIRED COST

An expense for revenue in a period of time when benefits are also received. If a business gets all benefits from a cost it is an expired cost.

EXPIRY

Ending term life insurance policy when the coverage period is over.

EXPLANATION

Commentary that is made to clear up a subject to make linkages clear in a concept. Refer to definition and description.

EXPLICIT COST

An expense that is both contractual and definite. It can be rent or wages for example. They are recognized for recording.

EXPLICIT KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge that is recorded and expressed. It is easy to share and store. It can be in books or on the internet. It is the opposite of tacit knowledge.

EXPLODED VIEW

An illustration of an item that is not assembled so that all parts are visible.
