The time for airing commercials at the station or channels discretion.

RUN ON THE BANK

Where a number of the banks customers all withdraw their money fearing that the institution may become insolvent shortly.

RUN RATE

The projected profit of a company is studied in order to make next years investment decisions.

RUN TIME

1. The time needed to finish one run. 2. The period time that an item is worked on.

RUN WITH THE LAND

A convention where convenants on land are passed from one owner to the next.

RUNNING COST

The cost it takes to operate an organisation on a regular basis.

RUNNING ROYALTY

The compensation that is paid to the licensor or franchiser based on number of units sold or produced instead of being paid a lump sum.

RUNNING YIELD

The percentage of income annually from bonds at a set price that ignores any ‘pull’ that is caused by its closeness to its date of redemption.

RURAL

An area that is sparsely populated and located away from a city. Characterised by farming areas, open spaces and vegetation.
