SYNCHRONICITY

Relationship between a series of processes where one can’t start or go beyond a set point until another process has started, ended or reached a set point.

SYNCHRONIZED PRODUCTION

The process where each run of production will put out an identical sequence of items in terms of quantity, mix and rate. See synchronized manufacturing.

SYNCHRONOUS

Latin-with time. The sequence of events that occur together or at a fixed interval that is timed by a clock.

SYNDICATED LOAN

A loan that is large and jointly arranged by 2 or more financial institutions to share any risks. Also known as Multi bank credit or syndicated credit.

SYNDICATION COST

Cost incurred in promoting a syndications interests. May be an intangible asset in financial statements.

SYNDROME

A group of symptoms occurring together to indicate a certain disease or condition is present.

SYNERGISTIC EFFECT

Interaction between entities, agents, substances or factors to produce a greater effect than the total of all the individual effects. Opposite of antagonism. See synergism.

SYNERGY

State where 2 or more things are working together in a productive way.

SYNOPSIS

The brief summary or outline of main points of articles, plans or books.

SYNTHESIS

SYSTEMATIC

A methodical and repeatable procedure. Do not confuse with systemic meaning system wide.
