CONSENT RESTRICTIONS ON

A term in medical jurisprudence where consent can’t be obtained from a minor or a person who cannot understand the request for consent or is under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

CRIMINAL

the name given to a person who has a committed a serious crime. The word can also mean wicked.

This occurs when the assets of an estate are grouped together where there is no will pertaining to the distribution of assets.

the term that is given to the place that something can be seen so it can be observed and easily seen by interested and disinterested parties.

CORNERING THE MARKET

This term is applied when the majority of a particular commodity is bought on the market and is then sold for a higher price.

CONTRADICTION OF WITNESS

This term is applied when the evidence presented disproves or is contrary to the testimony of a witness.

CONTINGENT FEE SYSTEM

a term given to the fees paid to an attorney where the client pays a sum that depends on how much he is awarded.

CONVENING ORDER

a statement that says that the court was in session and did its business at a certain place at a certain time.

CERTIFICATE OF PARTNERSHIP

the written statement that names all of the partners involved in a company and is filed with the correct authorities.

CRIMINAL OFFENSE

This is the offense that will be tried in a criminal court and not a civil court.

COGENT

This term applies to something that is convincing, compelling and appeals to reason.

CONSENT BY SIBLING

Used in medical jurisprudence where a brother or sister is the nearest available next of kin and can give consent to treatment.

CONSENT ORAL

the term that applies to a spoken consent usually when it is not possible to get written consent.
