What is CLAUSE?

A single paragraph or subdivision of a legal document, such as a contract, deed, will, constitution, or statute. Sometimes a sentence or part of a sentence. Appeal of Miles, 08 Conn. 237, 30 Atl. 39, 30 L. R. A. 176; Esclibach v. Collins, 61 Md. 499, 48 Am. Rep. 123.
