What is MAXIMUM LIKELIHOOD CRITERION?

Under conditions of uncertainty this is a decision making rule in decision theory. It states that the decision maker Ignoring all possible events save the one most likely to occur that produces the best possible result in the given circumstances, be it maximum gain or minimum loss.
