What is LIBERARE?

Lat. In the civil law. To free or set free; to liberate; to give one his liberty. Calvin. In old English law. To deliver, transfer, or hand over. Applied to writs, panels of jurors, etc. Bract, fols. 110, 1706. Liberata pecunia non liberat offer- entem. Co. Litt. 207. Mouey being restored does not set free the party offering.
