The title of a French work on marine insurance, by an unknown author, dating back, probably, to the sixteenth century, and said to have been prepared for the merchants of Rouen. It is noteworthy as being the earliest treatise on that subject now extant. Le ley de Dieu et ley de terre sont tout un; et l’un et l’autre preferrc et favour le common et publique bien del terre.
