A society of men. The Saxons ranked men into three classes,and valued them, as to satisfaction for injuries, etc., according to their class. Thehighest class were valued at 1,200s.. and were called “twclf liindmcn;” the middle classat 000s., and called “scxliindmcn;” the lowest at 200s., called “ticyhindmcn.” Theirwives were termed “hindas.” Brompt.
