What is GASOHOL?

Mixture of nine parts of unleaded gasoline by volume with one part of ethanol, ethyl alcohol. Ethanol source is fermented agricultural produce, typically corn. ‘Gasohol’ is a registered trademark of the Nebraska Gasohol Committee. It allows free use for blends with only ethanol, no other alcohol. The octane of gasohol is nearly that of gasoline, but it produces a cleaner emission, lower in carbon oxides.
