What is FLOATING CAPITAL?

(or circulating capital.) The capital which is consumed at eachoperation of production and reappears transformed into new products. At each sale ofthese products the capital is represented in cash, and it is from its transformations thatprofit is derived. Floating capital includes raw materials destined for fabrication. such aswool and flax, products In the warehouses of manufacturers or merchants. such ascloth and linen, and money for wages, and stores.
