What is FIELD REEVE?

An officer elected, in England, by the owners of a regulated pastureto keep in order the fences, ditches, etc., on the land, to regulate the times duringwhich animals are to be admitted to the pasture, and generally to maintain and managethe pasture subject to the inst notions of the owners, ((jeneral Inclosure Act, 1845.
