What is EMISSION FACTOR?

Measures quantity of pollutant thrown into the atmosphere or dumped in water. Measured as an average amount of a specific pollutant or material discharged in by a specific process, fuel, equipment, or source. Expressed as in number of pounds or kilograms of pollutant per ton or metric ton of the source material or fuel.
