Psychological procedures used in gathering and understanding knowledge. This knowledge leads to the formation of beliefs and attitudes, and then into decision-making and problem solving. These procedures are distinct from emotional and choosing consciously, procedures involved in wanting and intending. Cognitive capacity is measured typically with intelligence quotient (IQ) tests.
