Statistical classification technique in which cases, data, or objects, such as events, people, and things, are subdivided into groups or clusters. It is a discovery tool used to help reveal associations, patterns, relationships, and structures in masses of raw data. Items in a cluster are very similar but not identical to one another and have varied characteristics from the items in other clusters.
