Speed of a computer to traverse a number of evenly-spaced pulses generated by a computer’s clock to regulate the switching task of the circuits. Measured in megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz), clock speed is typically associated with the computer’s performance – the higher the speed, the more powerful the computer. Varied microprocessor architectures having the same clock speed, however, will process data at varied rates due to their internal efficiency or lack of it.
