What is BARBELL PORTFOLIO?

An investment PORTFOLIO comprised of NOTES and BONDS with short and longterm maturities but few, or no, securities with mediumterm maturities. A barbell may be constructed to take advantage of a particular view on the YIELD CURVE or to meet specific CASH FLOW requirements.
