What is PUBLIC INSTITUTION

The name that is applied to a school, college, courthouse, library, hospital and other place that is run for the public to use. The opposite of a private institution.

TLD Example: After their daughter graduated from high school, her parents persuaded her to attend college at a public institution where the tuition would be less expensive than the cost of attending a private college.
