What is OPERATING SYSTEM (OS)?

Operating software that runs while a computer is on. Most of the time, it has already been installed when the computer is purchased. The operating system?s primary functions are: 1. User interface, 2. Execute user and software generated commands, 3. Manage software installation, 4. Control input / output functions, 5. Allocate memory and hard disk space, 6. Organize files and directories, 7. Provide file-sharing and networking.
