What is OPEN SYSTEM?

1. Computing: A system designed according to known standards that can interact freely with other systems using the same standards. Open system standards must be fully defined, stable over a long period of time, publicly available and free from the control of any individual firm or vendor. 2. Systems: A system that can resist entropy by adapting to the environment. Open systems can process various environmental inputs and then return them to the environment, as outputs or waste.
