What is WRIT OF ASSOCIATION?

In English practice. A writ whereby certain persons (usuallythe clerk of assize and his subordinate officers) are directed to associate themselveswith the justices and serjeants; and they are required to admit tlie said persons intotheir society in order to take the assizes. 3 Bl. Comm. 50.
