What is REVISED STATUTES?

A body of statutes which have been revised, collected, ar- ranged in order, and re-enacted as a whole. This is the legal title of the collections of compiled laws of several of the states, and also of the United States. Such a volume is usually cited as “Rev. Stat.,” “Rev. St.,” or “R. S.”
