A term used to denote a condition in which people are unable to meet their basic necessities, due to lack of money or skill. There are two primary terms used to denote poverty; absolute and relative. Absolute poverty is when the people of a country are unable to provide for their basic needs, while relative poverty is when people find it difficult to live according to the standards set by the government.
