VEREDICTUM Definition & Legal Meaning

L. Lat. In old English law. A verdict; a declaration of the truth of a matter in issue, submitted to a jury for trial. Veredictum, quasi dictum veritatis; nt judicium quasi juris dictum. Co. Litt 226. The verdict is, as it were, the dictum of truth; as the judgment is the dictum of law.
