ORAL WILL Definition & Legal Meaning

Definition & Citations:

A will communicated verbally to witnesses, rather than in writing, usually when the person is near death. Few states accept oral wills, due to the possibility of fraud, and they are generally only accepted in probate court when made by members of the armed forces during live conflicts.

Cf., What Is a Holographic Will?
